Children's Day Out!
Aka mom's day out. I'm happy to say that I found a great new place for the babies to go to "school". They will be going from 9:30 to 2:30 on Wednesdays at Quail Springs UMC. The church just happens to be on the way to the mall ;) a little too convenient maybe, lol. Really, I'm excited to get some housework done without the aid of my two little helpers. Last night we went to orientation and they seemed to love their classroom and took right off! I think they will enjoy the break from me too.

Meet the Teachers (Take 2)
Ally finally got to meet her teacher yesterday and see her classroom. She got "the prettiest" teacher, Mrs. Gee. She is pretty, and seems super nice too. She has a niece that has Apraxia (speech disorder) just like Ally does, so it seems to be a perfect fit. We also got to meet Mrs. West, Ally's new speech teacher. She also seemed great.
The school did end up hiring two new teachers, one for K and one for 4th! They were hired Tuesday night and started today! I'm happy the class sizes are going to remain smaller, but honestly I'm glad we didn't get one of the newbies ;)

Visiting Daddy
Yesterday we went to base to have lunch with Josh before the girls headed back to school. We got the VIP tour of the new med group building too while we were there. It's super nice! Josh is back working in flight medicine, like he did at McConnell AFB. He will soon be SGP (the boss basically) though after he takes the training course in October. Tinker AFB has the largest flight med group in the AF so Josh is going to be busy.

Meet the Teachers Day!
This morning we went to meet the girls' teachers. It sounded simple enough, but it was more of an event, with papers to fill out, things to buy, etc. We got there at 10:30 and barely had enough time to make it to both classrooms by noon! That of course included diaper changes and snacks for the babes ;) M&M did great by the way, and we met another twin mommy with 5 kids!
Anya's teacher is Mrs. Flurry. She seemed super nice, and very organized. Anya was happy, except for the part that she shared her desk triangle with two boys ;) She also wanted to bring pretty pencils but the teachers requested yellow #2 only. I really hate when all the supplies get dumped into one big lump for all the kids to share. So much for the cute notebook and folders Anya picked too :(
Ally really didn't get to meet her teacher or see her classroom yet. Surprisingly, the k, 1st, and 4th grades are all really full and depending on how enrollment goes today they may be hiring new teachers tonight! Crazy, huh? So we will go back on Thursday to find out which teacher Ally got and see her room. Today we met all 6 of the Kindergarten teachers briefly though and they were all very sweet. Ally was very shy, and could barely answer what her name was! I'll be honest, I'm a little worried for her. I think it'll be good that we are going back one more time before school starts Friday.

Exploring Norman
Today we drove 30 mins south to Norman, OK. Home of the OU Sooners. We tried some local Italian food and then spent the rest of the day with the dinosaurs at Sam Noble's Oklahoma Museum of Natural History. We had a fun time!

Our New Swing Set
This is the first evening it's been cool enough for the kids to go outside and really play. It's currently 92 degrees outside ;) It took about two seconds for the babies to figure out how to climb the ladder and go down the big slide! The top of the slide is as tall as I am. They make me extremely nervous and we may be getting some rubber mulch stuff very soon.
Med group picnic
Today the med group was having a picnic and families were invited. Med group isn't really the right name for it because it was only for the flight med, dental, and some other small part of the clinic, but anyways you get the point. So I guess this picnic has been planned for weeks but Josh first heard about it Wednesday. I thought it'd be a good way to meet people so we planned to go. It was scheduled for 1 pm. So anyways today I text Josh about the picnic at 11:15 and he quickly calls back to say he just found out at a meeting that the time had changed and they were cooking food at 11:30. We live 30 mins away :/ So we didn't go. It's not nearly as annoying now that I'm typing it out but regardless I was irritated.

Chocolate pudding
The highlight of my day, homemade chocolate pudding! Yes, it's been that kind of day ;) No worries though, we are having chicken and dumplings tonight so my day is looking better and better.
The recipe...
2 cups milk
1/2 c sugar
4 tbs corn starch
2 Tbs cocoa
1 egg
1 tb butter
1ts vanilla
Warm milk on medium heat. Mix sugar, cornstarch, and cocoa together, then add egg. Pour half of warm milk into mixture and beat well. Return everything to pan and continue to cook on medium heat, stirring frequently. When pudding starts to set up take it off fire and beat in butter and vanilla.
Enjoy! I usually double this recipe for my little family :) I also like to leave out cocoa and add coconut when I'm making it just for me.

Update
Well, where to start ;) Here's a quick update...We are living in Oklahoma now, Josh is stationed at Tinker AFB, Anya is 7 years old, Ally is 5, and Max & Macy are 19 months old! I'm still staying home taking care of everyone. That about does it I think :)
Today I finally registered the girls for school. Anya will be in the 2nd grade and Ally is starting Kindergarten. The school is only a few years old and from what I've seen it's very nice. The school is bigger than we're used to, 6 classrooms per grade. We live directly behind the school so the girls could walk if I let them. I haven't decided on that yet.
The girls are watching "Where the Red Fern Grows." I'm supposed to be cleaning up, but I'm highly distracted by the movie. It was my favorite from the 4th grade. I have a terrible memory but I remember it was sad :/
Well I better get to work, the babies will be up from their nap any minute now.
