Day Two of Packing

I set up the tent for the girls to play this afternoon, they were getting a little bored with the packing. Ally's room is all done, except for her bed. She was concerned about her stuff, but I explained that it was all packed in the boxes, now she's saying "my boxes" and patting them. Anya has been super wild, I guess that's her reaction to the move. They packed up the kitchen today, so it's been a little inconvenient. I guess we'll be eating from now on, so it's not all bad. :) When the packers are done for the day I'm going to take the girls swimming, so they should be happy. Now I have to figure out what to do with all the stuff they won't move. Watch out Marla, here we come with all our junk!

VBS

Anya is going to Vacation Bible School this week at Woodlawn UMC. She has been loving every minute, and comes home full of excitement. Yesterday when I picked her up she was chanting L-E-T-S-G-O Let's Go, Let's Go. I'm not sure what that has to do with the bible, but she says it now constantly. Today I asked her how to spell Let's Go, she looked at me like I was crazy, and said I can't spell Mommy. I tried to explain it to her that she was already spelling L-E-T-S-G-O, but she informed me I was wrong and it's L-E-T-S-KEO.

Ally is heart broken that she can't go to bible school too. I feel bad for her, and have been trying to do fun stuff with her to make up for it. She asks me about a million times each night, "Where's Anya." I'm taking Ally to the new Dillons Marketplace in just a few minutes. It doesn't really sound like fun for a two year old, but I'm going to let her push one of the little carts. She'll have a blast, but it won't be much fun for me I'm afraid.

The schedule for VBS is 6-8:30. It's been so hard for me to be organized with food on the table in time to get there by 6:00. Then with it not getting over until 8:30 it makes bed time late every night. I'm tired of doing bed time by myself, it takes twice as long without Josh. I'll try to remember to take a picture of Anya when I pick her up tonight to go along with this post.

Moving Update

Our house is now off the market! We're renting it to the new flight doctor that is coming to McConnell to replace Josh. I haven't met him, but his wife is a really lovely person from New Orleans, and they have a 9 month old baby girl named Madeline. It would have been really great to sell the house, but we're just glad that a nice family is going to be here taking care of things for us. It would be amazing if we could return to McConnell in 3 years, but who knows what is in store for us.

As far as the move goes, it's finally happening on Monday. This move has seemed to drag on and on! The packers will be here Mon-Tues-Wed, and then they will load the truck on Thursday. We should hopefully have our stuff by the 6th or 7th. Josh can't come back during the week to help, but thankfully my mom is coming on Sunday to entertain the girls. Josh originally thought that I would just take care of everything, and then drive with the girls by myself to St Louis. I figured he would be coming back to help me out. So after a lengthy discussion about whether a $250 plane ticket was worth it or not, he will be flying in on Friday to make the drive back with us.

Now we just need to decide where we are spending the 4th of July. If everything goes smoothly we could be in our new empty house by then, or we might make a trip out of it, and spend the 4th in Kansas City. Knowing Josh we will just keep driving. I like to stop about every 2-3 hrs, we drive each other crazy!

Father's Day

We all met at home for Father's Day weekend, and spent some wonderful family time together. On Sunday we ate lunch at the newest Buffalo Wild Wings, and then Josh loaded up a lot more stuff + the cats, and headed back to our new home. He's been living bachelor style with a card table, air mattress, and camping chair. Poor Guy!

Anya's Modern Art

I walked by Anya's room this morning and something caught my eye, so I backed up to take a better look. She had created what I call a hanger art sculpture, with a paper crown thrown in the mix. Take a look...

Too Busy To Blog!

Seriously I'm not too busy to blog, I've just been spending my evenings watching movies. So far I've seen Taken, Marley & Me, Bride Wars, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Yes Man, Atonement, Smart People, Revolutionary Road, He's Just Not That Into You, Hotel for Dogs and the 3 Bourne Identity movies. Yesterday for a Father's Day treat Josh and I watched Step Brothers. I'm not sure what's next, anyone have any suggestions?
